Anthony and Erin Jones

In the heart of Highland Park, where tradition meets modern elegance, Erin Egan of Dallas, the daughter of Carol Egan and Brian Egan, and Anthony Jones of Austin, the son of  Johnna and Jim Dechman of Austin, and Michelle and Stephen Jones of Albany, Texas, celebrated a wedding that felt like a full-circle moment, perfectly blending cherished memories with new beginnings.

Their story began at a mutual friend’s birthday party in 2019, where fate—and their shared love of all things French—brought them together. From that first night, they were inseparable, and Anthony’s insistence on a proper date sealed their love story. Three and a half years later, Anthony proposed at a secluded Balinese waterfall at dawn, setting the tone for a lifetime of unforgettable adventures.

The Ceremony: A Timeless Affair
The couple exchanged vows at Highland Park United Methodist Church, a venue steeped in sentimental significance for Erin, who grew up attending services there. “We were married at the same church and had our reception at the same venue as my parents,” shared the bride, Erin. I grew up at HPUMC and it’s on SMU’s campus, so it was a very full-circle moment for Anthony and me to get married there.

The chapel has beautiful stained-glass windows and the light pouring in made for a special ambiance.” Its location on SMU’s campus was equally meaningful for Anthony, who had completed his master’s degree there. With sunlight streaming through the stained-glass windows, the ambiance was ethereal, bathing the chapel in a soft glow that complemented the wedding’s stunning color palette of chambray, lilac, light pink, and soft green.

Erin, a vision of chic grace in her Romona Keveza gown, walked down the aisle surrounded by loved ones, including a bridal party of ten close friends and family members. Her sister, Lauren Egan, served as Maid of Honor, while her attendants were Emma Bailey, Olivia Burnett, Maddie James, Natalie Jones, Lulu Jones, Diana Jones, Rachel Kessler, Catherine Kumpf, and Sabrina Salerno. Anthony’s brother, Harrison Jones, stood proudly as Best Man, while Paul Civello, John Dechman, Larkin Dobson, Jack Greenberg, Richard Kissire, Austin Little, Jordy Moix, Josh Mosier, John Peters, and Dillon Wagner served as the groomsmen. Anthony, ever the charismatic counterpart to Erin’s quiet strength, looked dashing in his custom tuxedo, his expression radiating pure joy as he saw his bride.

“We both felt so loved being surrounded by not only family but also by friends from different stages of our lives,” mused Erin and Anthony. “From friends’ parents who helped raise each of us, to friends from childhood and college, every person there helped shape us into the people we are today. Many of our guests were from Texas, and it was also meaningful to have friends from out-of-state travel to celebrate with us.”

The Reception: Elegance Meets Whimsy
After the ceremony, 235 invited guests gathered at The Arts District Mansion for a reception that was equal parts elegant and lively. The venue was transformed into a floral dreamscape, thanks to the wedding event producer Weddings a la Carte by Ann Pittman, and the floral design by The Garden Gate, whose talents brought the couple’s vision of light and airy beauty to life. Tablescapes featured soft blooms and flickering candles, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

A standout feature of the evening was the six-tier vanilla wedding cake, lovingly crafted by Panini Bakery. Filled with fresh strawberries and whipped cream, it was a decadent treat that delighted guests. A charming personal touch? A tiny figurine of their goldendoodle, Miller, was hidden among the floral decorations on the cake. While Miller couldn’t be there, his presence was felt in this sweet detail.

The Groomsmen

A sumptuous seated dinner was served, and as the plates were cleared, the dance floor came alive. The band Manhattan by Jordan Kahn kept the energy high with an expertly curated playlist that catered to all ages. Guests couldn’t resist the call of the music, from classic tunes to contemporary hits. Adding to the fun was a MirMir photobooth, which became an instant hit. Friends and family posed with a variety of light-up party accessories, from cowboy hats to cat ears, adding a touch of whimsy to the sophisticated evening.

A Night to Remember
The couple’s favorite part of the evening was feeling the overwhelming love and support from their 235 guests, many of whom had traveled from across the country to celebrate. Among them were family friends who had known the duo since childhood, along with newer friends who had become an integral part of their journey.

As the night wound down, Erin and Anthony weren’t ready to say goodbye. The celebration continued at Barley House, a beloved college haunt of Anthony’s SMU days. Surrounded by their closest friends, they toasted to a perfect day and a bright future, reliving the highlights of the evening and basking in the joy of their union.

A Love Story in the Making
For their honeymoon, Erin and Anthony jetted off to Madrid, Mallorca, and the French Riviera—a continuation of their shared passion for travel that has defined so much of their relationship. Whether exploring the world or playing tennis with their goldendoodle in tow, Erin and Anthony have built a life together that is equal parts adventure and partnership.

Now residing in Dallas, where their love story first began, Erin and Anthony are looking forward to this new chapter as husband and wife. She is employed by Texas Capital Bank as a Technology, Media, and Telecom Corporate Banker, and Anthony is a Corporate Finance Associate with Dorchester Minerals. With their shared love for food, travel, and long walks, they know that every day will bring new opportunities to deepen their bond and create lasting memories.

We raise our glasses to Erin and Anthony—may your life together be as radiant and joyful as the day you said “I do.”
