THE SCENE: Austin’s Circuit of the Americas was the setting for a night of fun and fundraising in one of the city’s most unique and memorable event spaces. Several hundred of the area’s most notable advocates, sociables, and philanthropists were on hand for the 7th Annual Abbey Lights Up COTA Gala benefiting the Abigail E. Keller Foundation.

THE VIBE: The Austin-chic crowd was dressed in an elegant mix of cocktail and sundresses, suits, jeans, and sport coats, with a few cowboy hats spotted in the crowd. The result was a warm, welcoming environment for everyone who attended, with a family feel in the air throughout the night.

Partygoers began the night in style, walking up a red carpet alongside the Circuit of the Americas Racetrack before heading inside for a lively cocktail hour. Here, guests posed for photos on the red carpet, after which they grabbed a cocktail and mingled with other guests, brimming with anticipation for the fun and fundraising that lay ahead.

Attendees then headed to their seats for the evening’s main program. The Daytripper host Chet Garner served as emcee, keeping the festivities flowing at a fun, brisk pace throughout the night.

As guests began dining on their delectable multi-course meals, they were treated to words from event leaders thanking them for being part of such a memorable evening. During the program, the second annual Butterfly Grant, was awarded. It helps ease the financial burden for families with children who experience ongoing illnesses and prolonged hospital stays after receiving a life-altering diagnosis.

David Ackel of David Ackel Auctions led a spirited live auction where guests bid on a diverse selection of luxury items and experiences. The night was capped off with live music courtesy of Rick Trevino and Presley Grace.

THE NON-PROFIT: The 7th Annual Abbey Lights Up COTA raised a record-breaking $500,000 for the Abigail E. Keller Foundation. Proceeds raised from the event will go towards program initiatives and assistance aimed at easing the complexities of families of children with life-limiting illnesses.
