Jess Hanebutt Snell is the designer behind Rockin’ B Clothing, a brand that has been featured on country music’s biggest stages, including designs for Kacey Musgraves and Lee Ann Womack’s performance at the CMT awards and helping revive brands like Nudies Rodeo Tailors. From Rodeo Queens to Rose Parade drill teams, clients count on Jess to recapture the lost glamour of western fashion and deliver bespoke dresses, jackets, suits, and more.
We were excited to spend a day with Jess and the Rockin’ B Ranch just north of Los Angeles in the California desert, while she spends most of her time at her home in Colorado, this Mid-Century home overlooking the desert vistas has always been one of her favorite places to create. As we expected the talented artist lives and works in a space that would inspire her. Filled with vintage furniture and hand-painted wallpaper the home is a mid-century western dream.
Built in 1957 the home retains many of its original details, “It was hard finding a place that had not been updated” she said. She and her husband spent months looking for a house that had yet to be updated. In Southern California’s fast-paced housing market homes with original details can be hard to find. The couple is still in the midst of renovations and plans on restoring more of the home’s original features, other than a modern flat-screen TV the period-correct furniture and timeless mid-century style make it seem like you have stepped back in time.
Jess works only on commission and her pieces have become sought-after collector’s items so if you find a piece by Rockin’B be sure to pick it up. You can learn more at RockinB-Clothing.com.
