Theater Lovers, Philanthropists, And Arts Patrons Gather For A Hollywood-Inspired Evening Of Red Carpet Glamour, Spectacular Entertainment, And Transformational Support For The Alley Theatre

THE SCENE: The Post Oak Hotel in Houston was the setting for a glamorous, star-studded night of fun and fundraising. A crowd featuring 375 of the area’s most notable art patrons, community leaders, theater lovers, sociables, and philanthropists turned out for the Alley Theatre Ball. The “Lights, Camera, Alley!”-themed event generated a vibrant energy throughout the night, resulting in a seven-figure fundraising for the organization.
THE VIBE: The black-tie crowd featured an array of Red Carpet-ready formal looks. In the crowd, one could spot classic formal wear that seamlessly blended with bold colors, prints, and sequins. The result was a high-energy ensemble of guests that made everyone feel like part of the production.
From the moment guests graced the Red Carpet to pose for images, everyone knew they were in for a fun night that gave every single guest the opportunity to take a star turn. After posing for photos, many stopped by the Glambot to take a video commemorating the evening, complete with flashing lights that allowed guests to really immerse themselves in a star-studded red carpet experience.
During cocktail hour, guests grabbed their favorite spirits and mingled with the crowd. Many admired one another’s chic looks, which allowed the conversations to flow as freely as the cocktails.
Patrons then took to their seats for dinner and the main program. As guests settled into their seats and enjoyed a delectable, multi-course meal, they were treated to words from organization and event leaders thanking them for their support. A highlight of the program was the Alley Academy Awards, where Resident Acting Company Members Elizabeth Bunch and Dylan Godwin presented
The 2026 Honorees, Carmen and Butch Mach, received the Best BenefACTOR Award, which resulted in a standing ovation from the audience. Then, a spirited live auction followed. Guests raised their disco-ball paddles for an array of luxury items and experiences with a walk-on role in A Christmas Carol, a trip to Bordeaux wine country, and The Alley Atelier Experience, where the lucky winner will collaborate with acclaimed costume designer Rachel Baretto on a custom, one-of-a-kind piece, emerging as the most popular items of the night.
As with all great award shows, a glorious second act followed. An epic after-party kept guests engaged and the dance floor packed as revelers cut a rug to the tunes of Disco Divas and The Big Beyond Band, capping off an award-winning night for the ages.
THE NON-PROFIT: The Alley Ball: Lights, Camera, Alley!, chaired by Mignon and Steve Gill, raised over $1.1 million for the Alley Theatre. Proceeds raised from the event will allow the company to fund artistic excellence, education, and community impact programs to bring world-class theater to Houston.
