The Evening At The Fairmont Austin Blends Boots, Bold Hearts, And High-Impact Giving As HeartGift’s Signature Gala For Life-Saving Pediatric Heart Care

THE SCENE: The Fairmont Austin was the setting for an incredible night of fundraising fun that honored one of the city’s most respected philanthropic forces. An exuberant crowd of approximately 500 community leaders, medical and children’s advocates, sociables, and philanthropists was on hand for Party With A Purpose. Benefiting HeartGift, the “Bold Hearts, Bright Futures”- themed night featured touching tributes and testimonials, resulting in a seven-figure total for the organization.
THE VIBE: The Cowboy Cocktail with a Pop of Red attired crowd featured an array of classic country looks. In the crowd, one could spot an array of denim, cowboy hats, and boots, with many featuring those pops of red. Others took the red theme to heart and wore bold red ensembles in their own interpretations. The result was a festive, family-like environment where everyone felt welcome.
The night kicked off with a lively cocktail hour. After guests grabbed their favorite cocktail of choice in the elegant bar-in-the-round in the Fairmont Ballroom Foyer, they mingled with other guests, taking advantage of several experiential event activations. This included visiting the Hat Bar for custom-embroidered hats courtesy of West Hill Hat Collection, as well as the opportunity to pose for classic vintage Polaroid photos, which attendees clipped on a wall to showcase the fun range of folks taking part in this special evening.
After the Fairmont Ballroom doors opened, revelers headed to their seats for dinner and the main program. The room featured an elegant palette of black tablecloths, red roses, and a white-backed stage that added a layer of sophisticated ambiance to the country-themed night.
As guests dined on their delectable multi-course meals, they were treated to words from event and organization leaders thanking them for taking part in such a special evening. During the program, Austin philanthropist Gary Farmer was honored with the organization’s Mending Heart Hero Impact Award for his tireless, long-term support.
Following an emotional testimonial video that barely let a dry eye in the house, Heath Hale of Cowboy Auctioneer took to the stage to helm a spirited live auction. The paddles and fundraising continued to climb as revelers bid on an array of once-in-a-lifetime experiences. The most popular items of the evening included trips to St. Barth’s, an African hunting excursion, and a chance to join HeartGift on a medical mission trip to Honduras or Bolivia. A paddles-up followed, driving the fundraising total even higher.
No country-themed gala would be complete with live music, and that is just what capped off this remarkable night for Austin fundraising. Austin native George Birge took to the stage and dazzled the crowd, packing the dance floor as the crowd cut a rug to several of his hit songs, including Mind on You and Cowboy Songs, and kept the fun going well into the night.
THE NON-PROFIT: The 2026 Party With A Purpose, chaired by Jennifer and John Harper & Mike Heidler, raised a record-breaking $1.2 million for HeartGift. Proceeds from the event will support the organization’s mission to provide life-saving heart procedures for children in developing countries worldwide. Since its founding in 2000, HeartGift has provided these critical heart surgeries to over 3,000 children worldwide.
