THE SCENE: The Hilton Anatole in Dallas was the setting for North Texas’s most successful Spring fundraising gala. A sold-out crowd of over 1,000 community leaders, medical visionaries, sports enthusiasts, sociables, and philanthropists turned out for the 36th Annual Children’s Cancer Fund Gala. Boasting an “Unbridled Courage” theme, the guests’ energy was palpable from start to finish, culminating in a touchdown and a fundraising record.

THE VIBE: The cocktail-attired crowd featured an elegant, sophisticated array of looks. In the crowd, one could spot traditional cocktail looks: colorful dinner jackets, evening gowns, and cocktail dresses in every color of the rainbow. The result was a festive, welcoming environment where everyone could play to their inner kid at heart.

Kicking off the festivities was a VIP reception sponsored by the Texas Stock Exchange, where select guests mingled with event notables and an assortment of Dallas Cowboys players past and present. The VIPs then joined other guests in the Hilton Anatole lobby for an already underway cocktail hour, where they had the opportunity to peruse an impressive selection of silent auction items.

The crowd then headed into the ballroom for dinner and the main program. As guests dined on a delectable, multi-course meal, they were treated to words from event and organization leaders thanking them for taking part in such a special evening.

Next came a spirited live auction helmed by Heath Hale of Cowboy Auctioneer. Eager bidders bid on an array of once-in-a-lifetime luxury packages and experiences. The Paddles-Up that followed drove the fundraising even higher.

All eyes then turned to the stage for the highlight of the night, the annual Children’s Cancer Fund Fashion Show. This year, 18 children ages 5 to 15 graced the runway with an array of Dallas notables, including athletes, celebrities, and first responders. The fashion show capped off an incredible night of fundraising and perfectly brought the Unbridled Courage theme to life for the event’s true heroes, children who are displaying remarkable courage to survive and, more importantly, thrive after a cancer diagnosis.

THE NON-PROFIT: The 36th Annual Children’s Cancer Fund Gala, co-chaired by Kasey Lemkin and Bina Palnitkar with Troy Aikman and Dak Prescott serving as honorary chairs, raised a record-breaking $4 million for the organization. Proceeds from the event will support pediatric cancer research and treatment programs at Children’s HealthSM and UT Southwestern Medical Center.
