THE SCENE:  Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center (DCAC) welcomed more than 120 guests to Galleria Dallas for its 6th Annual Mahjong for a Mission, chaired by Laura Black. The event moved this year from DCAC to Galleria Dallas, between Bachendorf’s and Gucci, offering a bright and festive new backdrop for the popular fundraiser.

The new location brought a fantastic energy into the event, with colorful mahjong tables set against the airy mall setting and playful Galentine’s-inspired décor throughout the space. Bow-adorned photo moments and pops of pink created a buzzy atmosphere that matched the spirit of the day while highlighting the mission behind the gathering.

THE VIBE: Guests embraced the Galentine’s chic dress code, enjoyed a selection of food from East Hampton Sandwich Co., and posed in front of bow-adorned photo backdrops before settling in for serious game play. Throughout the event, tables filled with friendly competition, laughter, and conversation as both seasoned players and newcomers joined in the mahjong fun.

The event brought together community leaders, longtime DCAC supporters, and friends gathering for a meaningful cause. Thanks to the generous community, the event raised more than $80,000 to directly support children served by DCAC

THE NON-PROFIT: As the only agency of its kind in Dallas County, DCAC provides coordinated, comprehensive services to child victims of severe abuse. The nonprofit’s multidisciplinary team reviews every report of suspected child abuse in Dallas County, nearly 28,000 reports each year, ensuring children and families receive critical support and a path toward healing.

That impact translates to 320 Forensic Interviews, often the first brave step toward hope and healing; 800 Family Fun Night Kits, creating joyful memories for families rebuilding together; and 3,200 Court Readiness Bags, offering comfort and reassurance in courtrooms. Events like Mahjong for a Mission are vital to DCAC’s work, raising essential funds, building community among supporters and expanding awareness of the services available to children and families across Dallas County.
