This fall marks a golden milestone for one of Austin’s most cherished traditions, and we can’t wait. The Settlement Home for Children’s 50th Annual Garage & Estate Sale returns on November 5 (for the opening Preview Event) and then again on November 7–9 at the Palmer Events Center, inviting the community to shop, treasure hunt, and give back in a big way.

For four days, the Palmer transforms into a shopper’s paradise, featuring 21 departments brimming with bargains and discoveries: from vintage furniture and heirloom décor to designer fashion, fine jewelry, sporting goods, electronics, art, and collectibles. Whether you’re a seasoned thrifter, a vintage enthusiast, or love the thrill of the hunt, The Sale offers something extraordinary for everyone.

Yet, beyond the treasure troves of fashion and furniture, lies the true heart of this Austin tradition: every dollar raised supports the children and young adults of The Settlement Home for Children.

The Heart Behind The Sale: The Settlement Home For Children

Founded in 1916 by a group of visionary women who saw the urgent need to provide safety and stability for young girls in crisis, The Settlement Home for Children has grown into one of Austin’s most respected and impactful nonprofits. From its humble beginnings in a small house, the organization has expanded to a 10-acre campus that offers a continuum of care for children and young adults in foster care who have experienced severe emotional trauma, abuse, and neglect.

For over a century, The Home’s mission has remained steadfast: to promote healing, growth, and a lasting sense of well-being. Through residential care, therapeutic foster care, and supervised independent living, The Settlement Home empowers young people not only to recover from their pasts but also to thrive in their futures.

The Annual Garage & Estate Sale, which began five decades ago as a grassroots fundraiser organized by dedicated volunteers, has blossomed into a signature Austin event, raising millions of dollars to ensure that children in care receive the support, stability, and opportunities they deserve.

Shop With Purpose, Celebrate With Community

Now in its 50th year, The Sale is more than just Austin’s ultimate shopping spree; it’s a celebration of generosity, resilience, and community spirit. Every vintage lamp, tailored jacket, or piece of mid-century furniture purchased helps illuminate brighter futures for children and young adults who need it most.

So, mark your calendars for November 5 and 7–9 at the Palmer Events Center and be part of a tradition that has shaped lives for generations. Shop. Discover. Give back. That’s the true treasure of The Settlement Home’s Garage & Estate Sale.
