Fashion history is about to get a bold new chapter, and it’s being written right here in Dallas. The legendary Pierre Cardin Heritage Collection. It’s a time capsule of couture brilliance spanning the 1970s through today, and it will debut exclusively, thanks to Ken Weber at Martini Consignment, with a private event on November 19, followed by a public opening on November 20. The Pierre Cardin Young Designers Award (PCYDA) is an international design competition launched in 2022 to champion the next generation of fashion innovators. This November, the contest returns to the U.S. for its 13th edition, culminating in a finale event in Dallas, TX, at the Hall of State.

Cardin, the trailblazing visionary who redefined 20th-century fashion (and practically invented the concept of licensing to bring style to the masses), left a legacy that was both futuristic and democratic. Today, under the leadership of Rodrigo Basilicati-Cardin, that legacy evolves, blending avant-garde design, youth culture, and a fierce commitment to sustainability.

This dazzling Dallas debut will unfold in tandem with an invitation-only fashion spectacular at Fair Park. Produced by Basilicati-Cardin himself and orchestrated by the incomparable model-turned-event producer Jan Strimple, the evening will feature:

  • The finale of the Pierre Cardin Young Designer Award (PCYDA)competition, spotlighting global student talent.
  • A runway reveal of the latest Cardin couture collection.
  • A rare showing of the Heritage Collection with hundreds of hand-selected haute couture and boutique treasures from the Parisian House’s archives.

The competition, with student workshops in New York, San Francisco, and Dallas, challenges finalists to channel Cardin’s daring geometric vision while using innovative, sustainable materials. The deadline to apply is October 31, with student workshops scheduled to take place in NYC, San Francisco, and Dallas. Winners will be crowned in Dallas, on the very night history and haute couture collide. In Dallas on November 20, 2025.

And if that weren’t enough glamour, Dallas will witness an iconic runway moment that has been decades in the making. Supermodel Alva Chinn, who once walked for Halston at the legendary 1973 Battle of Versailles, will fulfill a lifelong dream by finally strutting the runway for Pierre Cardin.
