THE SCENE: The Moody Center in Austin was the recent setting for an emotional, yet ultimately uplifting night, serving as an opportunity to grieve a recent tragedy while providing hope for the future. The night served as an opportunity for the Central Texas community to come together in the wake of the recent flooding that had ravaged the area during the July 4th holiday. The result was a night of a beautiful blend of memorial and music, featuring touching tributes and musical performances that moved hearts and raised millions to help the region recover from this recent tragedy.

THE VIBE: The chic crowd donned a mix of concert attire, including cowboy hats, boots, sun dresses, and denim that served as a nod to the impressive list of country music superstars in the all-star roster of performances, most of whom had Texas roots, with many hailing from the Central Texas area. Some patrons could be seen wearing pops of or hints of green, which served as a nod to the green ribbons that have been placed around trees, lamp posts, and telephone poles over the past few months in memory of the victims who perished in the July floods.

The night was emceed by Chris Harrison and KVUE’s Quita Culpepper, whose class and poise helped steer the audience through their mix of grief, tears, and inspiration. Throughout the night, many country music legends took to the stage, with Miranda Lambert and Parker McCollum leading the charge. Jennifer Stevens of JHL Company produced the moving evening.

In addition to Lambert and McCollum, guests were treated to musical performances from top country music stars including Texas-based musicians Cody Johnson, Dylan Gosset, Jack Ingram, Jon Randall, Lukas Nelson, Lyle Lovett, Randy Rogers, Ronnie Dunn, and Wade Bowen as well as artists who came to Austin to lend their talents including Jason Aldean and Ryan Bingham.

In between the musical numbers, Texas icons including Colt McCoy, Dennis Quaid, Roger Clemens, Vince Young, Mack Brown, and Matthew McConaughey each took to the stage. During their appearances, they encouraged the audience to give to the Band Together Texas fund, with many on hand and at home doing just that.

The most emotional part of the evening was when Camp Mystic alum Ainslie Basaha appeared with University of Texas Football alum Emmanuel Acho, who shared her memories of her time at a camp that has served as a rite of passage for several generations of girls throughout Texas. This was followed by a candlelight vigil that served as a touching remembrance of the 27 Camp Mystic campers who perished in the floods that didn’t leave a dry eye in the house. The night concluded with the entire roster of performers and speakers banding together for a final onstage performance, capping off an emotional evening that will be forever remembered by those who were a part of it.
THE NON-PROFIT: Band Together Texas raised an astounding $8.5 million throughout the evening. Proceeds raised from the event will go towards providing urgent relief to victims of the flooding that devastated Central Texas on July 4, 2025. Additionally, funds will also go toward long-term recovery and rebuilding efforts across the region.
