THE SCENE: “Fashion in The Fast Lane,” The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary of Houston’s 21st annual fundraiser, celebrated fashion, philanthropy, and community spirit with the city’s most anticipated couture clothing swap and sale of the year. With Dynamo event chair Ann Ayre at the helm and honoring Hannah McNair, the event sold out all 400 tickets in under five minutes, before the printed invitations had even been sent. This highly anticipated shopping, luncheon, and fashion show was at the River Oaks Country Club. The VIP guests waited in line starting at 8:30 a.m. for the high-end and couture designer resale boutique, which opened at 9:30 a.m. only for VIP ticket holders. The chic boutique showroom at the River Oaks Country Club had a curated selection of both new and ‘pre-loved’ treasures from Valentino, Chanel, Oscar de la Renta, Loewe, Zimmermann, Fendi, and Alexander McQueen, to name a few.

THE VIBE: This year’s theme, “Fashion in the Fast Lane,” embodied elegance and unity, representing women coming together to make a difference. Fashion was celebrated in beauty and function, focusing on the intersection of timeless style and speed. The runway show honored classic fashion while recognizing the ever-evolving trends in clothing and automobiles. The event highlighted Hannah McNair through her community involvement as vice president of the Houston Texans Foundation, which used the power of football and celebrity to strengthen the community, support youth development, and increase access to resources. This includes a girls’ flag football program, started in 2023, that expands access for girls in Houston to participate in flag football. McNair’s commitment to philanthropy is deeply rooted in her family’s legacy. The McNair family has long supported the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary, and Hannah’s mother-in-law, Janice McNair, served as the 2014 Reflections On Style luncheon honoree.

Following the luncheon, the Chic Boutique Showroom reopened its doors for a four-day fashion sale. This event, which takes place only once a year, is the most highly anticipated clothing swap in Houston. Sustainability and philanthropy combine to create a wonderfully memorable and inclusive experience.
