THE SETTING: Texas-born actress and artist Farrah Fawcett remains an iconic figure and 15 years after her death, the Hollywood legend’s foundation continues her legacy to fund cancer research and care for patients nationwide. This is the third year the organization has brought its efforts to Dallas with the 2024 Farrah Fawcett Foundation Tex-Mex Fiesta. Hosted by Lawrence Zarian and the foundation’s event co-chairs Alana Stewart, Linda Gray, and Libby and David Hunt, honored local philanthropists Anne and Steve Stodghill.
THE VIBE: The evening began with margaritas, mariachi bands, and burros, with music from DJ 13lackbeard, followed by a Tex-Mex dinner and awards presentation. Notables in attendance included Heather and Todd Furniss, Jonathan “Foodgod” Cheban, Gregg Asher, Wayne and Lissie McCulloch, Chuck Steelman, Cary and Mark Dueber, and Chef Uno Immanivong. The highlight of the night was a rousing set by country music legend Wynonna Judd. Backed by her band, including her drummer-husband Cactus Moser, she had the crowd on their feet and dancing to her many hits, including “I Saw the Light,” “She Is His Only Need,” and “No One Else on Earth.”

THE NON-PROFIT: The event raised funds to benefit Stand Up To Cancer® (SU2C) and the American Cancer Society’s Dallas Cattle Baron’s Ball to fund Hope Lodge. Stand Up To Cancer® (SU2C) raises awareness and funds research to detect and treat cancers with the aspiration to cure all patients. The American Cancer Society is a leading cancer-fighting organization with a vision to end cancer as we know it for everyone.
