The Elizabeth Ann Seton Board Raises Funds For NICU Programs

THE SETTING: First Texas Honda in Austin was the setting for one of Austin’s most anticipated spring fundraising events. Over 650 of the city’s top medical leaders, sociables, and philanthropists turned out for the Elizabeth Ann Seton Board La Dolce Vita gala. The Italian-themed event required a last-minute venue change due to severe weather conditions yet became one of the most fun and successful EASB events in recent memory.
THE STYLE: The cocktail-attired crowd didn’t let the rain dampen their event spirit, with patrons donning their favorite spring colors and floral prints that created a bright, cheery environment for all who attended. The night began with a cocktail reception where guests posed for keepsake images on a Vespa scooter draped with lemons, yellow flowers, and greenery…then imbibed in a lively cocktail hour where revelers mingled and caught up with friends.
The crowd then took their seats for the main program. As guests dined on their meals, they were treated to words from event leaders as well as emotional testimonials about how Seton’s NICU programs have positively impacted so many families in Central Texas. Other highlights of the program included a golden ticket raffle, paddles up, and a spirited live auction with a seven-day trip to Tuscany and a dove hunting trip to Argentina being among the most popular items. The night was capped off with an after-party where revelers cut a rug on the dance floor to the tunes of the band, The Blue Roses.
THE PURPOSE: La Dolce Vita, co-chaired by Wesley Joseph and Meredith Spears, raised $1.34 million for Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin NICU programs. Proceeds raised from the event will specifically benefit programs and services the Marialice Shivers and Dell Children’s NICU at The Kathryn Frances Walker Center for Neonatal Intensive Care and Family Support.
