Do you love the 80s music so much that the soundtrack of the 1984 hit film, Footloose is on a constant loop in your mind, harkening back to days of what seemed like a much more fun world of musical artists who seemed so new and fresh? Yep, us too.
Now you can re-live that magical time with the Magnolia Musical Theatre presentation of the Broadway hit, Footloose: The Musical at the Hill Country Galleria, west of Austin. The magic happens every Wednesday through Saturday beginning July 10 through August 10 with showtime at 8 p.m. on the venue’s Central Plaza Lawn. No tickets are required…just bring your blankets and chairs, enjoy an evening on the lawn, and leave the singing and dancing to the performers on stage. Magnolia Musical Theatre’s mission is to provide Broadway-quality musical theatre experiences for all people of the Central Texas Hill Country. Each summer, Magnolia Musical Theatre brings a new musical to the beautiful Hill Country Galleria in the center of Bee Cave.
Guests are welcome to eat pre-show with friends and family at the many dining options on the property…like Chisos Grill, Tony C’s Coal Fired Pizza, or Tadashi Sushi, or stay after the show and grab a sweet treat from Amy’s Ice Cream or Yogurt Planet.
We also love that every Wednesday, the production offers senior and accessibility nights for the blind/low vision and deaf/hard of hearing communities. Sponsored by Together Austin, every Wednesday performance will feature ASL interpretation, and the July 24th production will offer audio description services.
