The 2024 Cadillac XT4 has undergone one heck of a makeover, and it’s a sight to behold. With a slew of new features and a revamped exterior design, the XT4 is now playing ball with some of the biggest names in the market, such as BMW X1, Land Rover Discovery Sport, and Mercedes GLB.

One of the most impressive changes in the new XT4 is its size, which is now longer and wider than its rivals. This has resulted in best-in-class passenger interior space and ample cargo room. The seats are downright cushy, offering fantastic support and plenty of under-seat foot space. Plus, the visibility is top-notch, with an optional massage function in the front that can be turned on with just a push of a button, making long drives a whole lot more comfortable.

Under the hood, the XT4 is powered by a 2.0-liter turbo inline-four and nine-speed automatic transmission, which deliver 235 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. While those numbers are average for its class, calibration tweaks have upped the EPA ratings by 1 mpg in the city and nudged the combined rating up by 1 mpg for AWD models only. The brakes are nothing short of amazing on the XT4, offering an excellent feel with no fade or pulling off the line. I will say, though, that the paddle shifting isn’t the best, so just leave it in automatic mode and enjoy the ride – it’s sporty, but not quite BMW M sporty.

One of the most significant upgrades in the new XT4 is the Lyriq’s massive, curved 33-inch 9K-resolution LED screen, which comes standard. The big screen is well-utilized and offers plenty of options for what’s displayed on the leftmost few inches to the left of the wheel, behind the wheel, and on the infotainment section. Additionally, there’s Google Built-In, standard 5G connectivity with Wi-Fi, and three years of OnStar remote access.

The 2024 Cadillac XT4 model range is priced at the median price of all new vehicles sold today, with entry-level front-drive models starting at $43,190 and fully loaded AWD Sport models topping out at $57,215. The interior is just as tech-forward as a BMW X1, but with vastly superior ride quality and more relaxed performance. The Luxury trims sport an eye-catching new grille made up of Cadillac emblems and ride on even more comfortable 18-inch tires, making them the clear choice. All things considered, if you’ve got the cash to spare, the 2024 Cadillac XT4 is worth every penny.
