THE SCENE: A picture-perfect autumn night at The Four Seasons in Austin was the recent setting for one of the capital city’s longest-running and most celebrated fall social events. Several hundred of the city’s most notable philanthropists, sociables, and community leaders turned out for the annual Seton Development Board Gala. Those fortunate enough to be a part of the fun were treated to a spectacular night of great friends and fundraising, all for a worthy cause.
THE VIBE: The black-tie crowd went all out with a black and white theme that had patrons wearing sleek, elegant ensembles that gave the entire event an added layer of sophistication that had a feeling of Old Hollywood glam. Patrons could feel the excitement in the air as they headed to the red carpet to pose for images to commemorate the evening.
Guests then ventured outside for an al fresco cocktail hour. Against the backdrop of a classical quartet playing ambience cocktail music, revelers cozied up to the bar to grab their favorite spirit of choice. The crowd mingled in the comfortably crisp Autumn air against the backdrop of elegant white lights that perfectly played into the Winter Wonderland theme of the night.
The action then went inside for the main program. As guests dined on a delectable, multi-course meal, they were treated to words from organization and event leaders, touching tributes, and moving testimonials that showcased how much the Seton Development Board has positively impacted Central Texas over the years.
THE NON-PROFIT: The event, co-chaired by Lucy Regan and Amelie Wilson Sanders, with Yuni Steen serving as Board President, raised over $500,000 to support women’s health and research programs at Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin. Since its founding in 1977, the event has raised over $16 million for innovative services and projects including The Marialice Shivers Dell Children’s Health Center’s NICU and the Ascension Seton Breast Care Center.
