THE SCENE: The Junior League of Houston was the recent setting of a night of fun, fashion, and fundraising that kicked off the social season of one of Houston’s most notable social organizations. The sold-out crowd of several hundred turned out for An Autumn Fairytale Opening Style Show in an evening that brought fun, a leading Houston fashion designer, and stunning fashion for women of all sizes in a night those fortunate enough to be a part of will not soon forget.
THE VIBE: The chic crowd brought a diverse, elegant mix of bright colors, bold prints, pastels, and metallics that created a welcoming environment for all who attended. As guests arrived for the pre-fashion show cocktail hour, patrons sipped on champagne and cocktails, they had a chance to visit a pop-up by Houston-based couture designer David Peck, with 20% of the proceeds purchased at the pop-up that went back to the Junior League.
Revelers then took to their seats for the main program. As guests dined on a delectable, multi-course meal, they socialized with their table mates in anticipation of the main event of the evening: the fashion show. This year’s size-inclusive fashion show featured Junior League members of all shapes and sizes as they strutted stunning looks down the runway as their fellow members cheered them on in support. The festivities concluded with Happily Ever After-Party, allowing patrons to revisit the popup and purchase their favorite David Peck look on the runway.
THE NON-PROFIT: The event raised funds for the Junior League of Houston. With a membership of nearly 5,000 women strong, the organization trains women to become effective leaders in the community by encouraging mentorship, development, and making civil service a lifetime commitment that empowers women
