THE SCENE: The Fashion Industry Gallery in Dallas was the venue recently for The EXPOSED Experience, a biennial event that draws hundreds of Dallas’ top philanthropists, fashionistas, and sociables. The highly anticipated event did not disappoint, and featured a eclectic mix of fashion, food, and fundraising that blurred the boundaries between entertainment and fundraising.
THE VIBE: The crowd donned their best spring cocktail attire, featuring a mix of bright colors and prints for the ladies while the men sported a festive mix of jeans, sport coats, and suits which allowed for a sophisticated mix of fashion that created a welcoming environment for all who attended. The festivities began with a lively cocktail hour where guests had the opportunity to sip their favorite spirits, which were expertly paired with small bites from many of Dallas’ hottest restaurants.
Fashion patrons then took to their seats for the main program. The program included many memorable moments. Guests heard from honored guest Chad Braun, who detailed his emotional journey battling melanoma and the importance of clinical trials that can benefit cancer patients. Next, guests engaged in a spirited live auction which included such luxury items as a 6.71 karat choker necklace donated by Mark Pharo, a Ski2Sea luxury Hawaii package, and artwork by Joey Lancaster. The night was capped off with fashion, of course, where the fashionable crowd was dazzled by a runway show featuring women’s and men’s looks by many top Dallas fashion retailers including Elements, Forty Five Ten, and Pockets Menswear, just to name a few.
THE NON PROFIT: The event, co-chaired by Joyce Goss and Greer Goss, raised funds for the AIM at Melanoma Foundation. 100% of the funds raised going towards the AIM International Melanoma Tissue Bank Consortium, which is dedicated to banking, examining, and understanding studying the entire genetic code of the melanoma primary tissue to help find the root cause of Melanoma skin cancer.
