The Texas-based hypercar manufacturer and high-performance vehicle creator, Hennessey, has started delivering its new 500 bhp Hennessey VelociRaptor 500 Bronco to customers. The enhanced version of Ford’s factory Bronco Raptor underwent cold weather testing in the snowy mountains of Colorado, and Hennessey’s engineering team approved the SUV’s performance, enabling production and deliveries to begin at the company’s Texas headquarters.
Hennessey’s engineers, renowned for their expertise in ‘making fast cars faster’ for over 30 years, applied their skills to the SUV’s twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine to enhance its power and drivability. The team incorporated a new high-capacity intercooler and proprietary engine management system tuning to improve charge cooling and increase intake boost, leading to a total system power of 500 bhp and 550 lb-ft of torque – which earned the nameplate ‘VelociRaptor 500’.

In the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, Hennessey’s team conducted low-temperature and high-altitude testing in challenging winter conditions, including snowstorms and freezing temperatures. However, the upgraded 4×4, fitted with Hennessey’s unique 20-inch alloy wheels and 37-inch off-road tires, successfully overcame these obstacles.
Priced from $28,950 – (on top of the base Ford Bronco Raptor) the VelociRaptor 500 package features enhanced air induction, a high-capacity intercooler with a blow-off valve, and an upgraded engine-management system to boost the performance of its twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine. Hennessey transforms the exterior with custom VelociRaptor bumpers, LED off-road lights, unique Hennessey 10-spoke alloy wheels, and VelociRaptor 500 Bronco badging. The interior features Hennessey’s embroidered head restraints, all-weather floor mats, and a unique build number plaque.
