THE SCENE: A picture-perfect evening at the Moody Theatre at ACL Live was the recent setting for a night of fun, philanthropy, and music. Over 400 of the Capital City’s top sociables, philanthropists, and community leaders gathered on the venue’s orchestra level for Live from the Heart benefiting JoyRx. An additional 1,000 music lovers then filled the mezzanine and premium seating levels of the venue, joining the 400 patrons to hear a show-stopping and soulful performance by acclaimed musician Joss Stone.

THE VIBE: The Austin-chic crowd began the evening with a cocktail reception on the exterior terrace for cocktails al fresco. Here partygoers, sipped on their favorite spirits while mingling with other attendees, posing for commemorative photos on the step and repeat, and perusing the silent auction and raffle items up for bid.

The action then moved into the Moody Theater for the main program. As guests dined on their multi-course meals, emcee Elizabeth McQueen of KUTX, kept the evening flowing at a fun, brisk pace. As the crowd dined on their multi-course meals, they were treated to a series of touching tributes showcasing how the organization has positively benefited children throughout the Austin community.

Next came a spirited live auction, where guests could bid on several fun experiential packages. Top items included a New York City getaway and dinner with comedian Alex Moffat and a Utah Cross Country Ski Adventure. The festivities were capped off with a performance by Grammy-Award Winning Artist Joss Stone, who brought the crowd to their feet by singing a fun mix of her well-known hits and new tunes.

THE NON-PROFIT: The event raised over $355,000 for JoyRx, which provides children with cancer with mental and wellness support services including music therapy, mentorship, and nature programs that help provide children with joy during trying circumstances.
